Chris is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys bicycling, swimming, cross country skiing, canoeing and sailing. Chris's love for nature informs his work as he brings those elements - a balance of light, structure and color - to his sense of design. Working with the client and his staff, he brings those elements into play in the design as well as the materials to be used in the construction.

THE TEAM
Chris and Pat have been life partners since 1982 and business partners for nearly all of those years. The idea of a "mom and pop shop" is nothing new. But the complementary skill sets offered by "Team cf+a" offers clients an unusual mix of services.

  • Architecture
  • Interiors
  • Planning
  • Sustainable practices
  • Historic preservation and incentives
  • Economic development
  • Grant writing and research
  • Technical and creative writing
  • Strategic planning and consensus building

Together, we've helped write historic preservation ordinances and design guidelines, advised on TIF districts and urban planning, designed interiors and exteriors, saved historic buildings and adapted others for current uses, assisted clients in incorporating "green" practices into their projects, conducted master planning, SWOT analyses, and much more.

Chris has the professional architecture training, depth of experience and knowledge coupled with outstanding construction documentation and effective communication and collaboration with your construction team. Pat offers strong knowledge of cultural, political and governmental trends as well as excellent writing, speaking and social media skills.
