Interns
cf+a always welcomes great interns. We understand the challenges architecture students face in designing and carrying out their internships and we value the energy, the knowledge and the enthusiasm interns bring to the work. Full-time or part-time, still in college, or degreed, we have a place for you. Join a firm that gives you the full scope of experience you'll need to further your architectural career.
If you're interested in knowing more, please contact us!
Past Interns
Rose Berryhill left cf+a in May 2009 to study photography at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.
Ana Levan just completed her graduate work at the University of Washington in Seattle, obtaining degrees in both Architecture and Construction Management. In early August, she and Adrian Parke, also architect-to-be, tied the know at lovely ceremony in Seattle.
Ashley Marsh recently completed her Master of Architecture at Washington University in Saint Louis, May 2007. She also finished a semester studying in Buenos Aires after which she survived the Inca Trail hike to Machu Picchu. She is currently completing her internship requirements at OWP/P Architects in Chicago. (owwp.com)
Adam King interned off and on at cf+a since 2003. He recently completed his degree at UW Platteville in Landscape Architecture. He enjoys touring with his band, Last Place You Look.
Job Shadows
The staff at cf+a fully supports and encourages students in their pursuit of architectural education. We welcome high school seniors entertaining the idea of architecture as a profession through the job shadow program offered through Highland Community College’s Career Tec program (www.highland.edu) and through individual and group programming with the Freeport School District #145 (www.freeportschooldistrict.com).
We have hosted students from various local school districts in short-term job shadow visits, or longer-term studio experience. Several of our students have returned year after year for summer work between academic years and during holiday breaks.
If you’re in high school or college and just beginning to think about architecture as a profession, we recommend you do your homework! There are various websites to help you in searching out architecture degree programs throughout the country. Here are just a couple to get you started:
Also, check out various universities well-known for their architecture programs:
We take great pride and pleasure in giving students the opportunity to learn and witness first hand the challenges and rewards of the architecture profession.
